1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using PDFVintage ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not access or use our application.
2. Description of Service
PDFVintage provides online document processing, conversion, manipulation, and utility tools for PDF files, images, and office documents. The suite includes, without limitation:
- PDF → other formats: Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), CSV, PowerPoint (.pptx), HTML, Markdown, XML, EPUB, images, plain text, and JSON.
- Other formats → PDF: Word (.doc/.docx), Excel (.xls/.xlsx), PowerPoint (.ppt/.pptx), HTML, Markdown, ODT, ODS, ODP, RTF, EPUB, XML, CSV, JSON, and images.
- PDF utilities: merge, split, compress, rotate, delete/extract/reorder pages, watermark, sign, protect (AES-256), unlock, repair, and grayscale.
- AI & OCR tools: the Docling Granite suite — messy-PDF reconstruction, image/scan-to-Word, invoice & table extraction, math-to-LaTeX OCR, and AI-ready Markdown export.
The Service runs on two engine types: (a) client-side tools that execute entirely inside your browser without uploading files, and (b) server-side tools that process files on our hosted cloud infrastructure (detailed in our Privacy Policy).
- File Size Limits: Free and Pro plan uploads are subject to a maximum file size limit of 25 MB per file.
- Processing Timeout: Server-side tool execution requests are subject to an automatic timeout limit of 120 seconds per request.
- Data Retention: Converted output files are retained temporarily and automatically purged after 5 minutes.
3. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use PDFVintage to:
- Upload or process files containing illegal material, malware, viruses, or malicious software.
- Process documents that infringe upon intellectual property, copyright, or trademark rights of third parties.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security features or file size/execution limits of the Service.
- Automate requests through unauthorized botting or scraping scripts that degrade performance for other users.
4. Accounts & Authentication
Some tools (the AI & OCR suite and page-pack purchases) require a free account. Accounts are created and authenticated through Google Firebase Authentication; we store only your email address, an optional display name, and per-tool usage counters. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to create an account.
5. Payments & Subscriptions
PDFVintage is free to use for everyday tools. Premium OCR page packs are one-time purchases processed entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details, and no card data ever touches PDFVintage servers. Purchased credits are recorded against your account and consumed per processed page (see the Pricing page). Free page allowances and credit consumption are enforced server-side and shown transparently on your dashboard.
6. Ownership & User Rights
You retain 100% ownership and copyright of all documents and files uploaded to or processed by PDFVintage. We claim no ownership, licensing rights, or intellectual property over your content.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we strive for maximum conversion precision, PDFVintage does not guarantee that file conversions will be error-free or perfectly preserved in all edge cases.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFVintage shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service or any files processed thereunder.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will become effective upon posting the updated terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service following such updates constitutes your acceptance.
