How Do You Combine Multiple PDFs Into One File?

Cover letter plus resume. Invoice plus receipts. Ten scanned contract pages in random order. Sooner or later every workflow demands one PDF instead of many — and emailing a zip of parts is how attachments go unread. The Merge PDF card stitches your files into a single document in whatever order you choose, entirely inside your browser: nothing uploads, nothing queues, and a fifty-file merge finishes before your coffee cools.

Order matters more than you think

A merged file reads like one document, so sequence it like one: cover letter first, then resume, then certificates — never the reverse. Drag files into reading order before merging, and double-check page sizes: mixing A4 and Letter originals is fine, but a stray landscape scan in a portrait packet will annoy every reader. When only some pages belong, Split PDF first to carve out exactly the ranges you need, then merge the keepers.

After the merge: shrink it and name it

Merged packets balloon fast — five phone scans can top 25 MB, and most inboxes reject anything over 10–20 MB. Run the result through Compress PDF before sending, and give the file a human name (application-jane-doe.pdf, not merged-final-v2.pdf) since the filename is the first thing a recruiter sees. Built a resume in our Resume Builder? Merge it with your cover letter here and send one attachment that opens identically everywhere.
